Pregnant Sister Poem

Before there's something new,
I'd like to tell the truth.
You mean so much to me, you do.
The way you touch my heart is proof.

The color of your laughter,
The smile you convey,
Are just icing on the cake
Compared to what I have to say:

We used to sing together.
Your voice made mine sound great.
I hope the baby soon to come
Will pick up that SWEET trait.

In time we'll know what "it" will be
So I can replace "it" soon.
You used to be an "it" as well
Till you were born in June.

And since that summer day,
When you were finally made,
There never was a moment when
Your face was caught in shade.

So now you'll sing to someone else
And share your love with him or she
And spread your light by making more
Of what you've brought to me.
